Edmonton, AB – The Poultry Innovation Partnership (PIP) is pleased to announce the release of its 2021 Research Showcase which highlights the published research from PIP’s affiliated researchers at the University of Alberta. The Showcase provides summaries of over 20 publications and links to the published peer-reviewed articles.
PIP is committed to fostering continuous improvement of the Canadian poultry enterprise through research, knowledge generation and dissemination and technology transfer.

The University of Alberta and the poultry industry have a long history of collaborating on leading edge research. Each partner brings diverse knowledge, skills, resources and perspectives in exploring solutions to systems-level
issues such as achieving high standards for animal care, respect for the environment and genetic resources, economic efficiency and poultry by-product utilization. The Showcase covers the entire spectrum of research from discovery to farm-ready application.

About the Poultry Innovation Partnership
The Poultry Innovation Partnership is a consortium of Alberta Chicken Producers, Alberta Hatching Egg Producers, Alberta Turkey Producers, Burnbrae Farms, Egg Farmers of Alberta, Egg Farmers of Canada, Government of Alberta, Maple Leaf Foods, Peavey Mart, and the University of Alberta. PIP brings farmers, academia and industry together at one table to meet the needs of the feather industries in Alberta.

Brenda grew up on a mixed farm near Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Her educational background spans across several disciplines (English, Music and Science) and has equipped her with the theoretical foundation and practical skills necessary to excel in her role as the Knowledge Mobilization Specialist for the Poultry Innovation Partnership. In 2023, Brenda returned to actively farming with her dad and brother, which provides a unique perspective to her work with the Poultry Innovation Partnership. Brenda is dedicated to fostering connections that empower communities and organizations. Brenda serves on several boards in her local community and nationally. In her 'spare' time Brenda enjoys travel, hiking with her husband Brent, quilting and the simple joy of reading a good book.
